Quantum Biology Lifestyle Medicine Series – Sunlight
Morning Routine – Watch the Sunrise!
Every morning, I watch the sunrise. It is awe-inspiring to see the sun literally move above the horizon right before my very eyes.
Also, I did not know that the sun rises in a different location every day. I thought it was always the same but that is not true. It is east for sure, but it moves across the sky from the left then a little to the right each day, until the solstice, when it does an about face.
My window faces east but, the sun was so far to the right, I had to move way over to the left to catch it rising.
I like to multitask so, I watch the sun while bouncing on my rebounder (personal trampoline) or do yoga and experience a true “Sun Salutation”.
Sun Gazing
Did you know you can look into the sun at sunrise? For about 15 minutes or so, at sunrise, when the angle of the sun is around zero degrees to about 10 degrees, the harmful frequencies are not present. It is all about the angle of the sun.
DO NOT look at the sun at noon and after the sun is above about 10 degrees, 15-30 minutes after earth sunrise. Be even more conservative if you see mountains or buildings to your east since that would mean the sunrise to your view, is appearing later but has actually already risen.
Check on the internet or use a great app mycircadian on you phone and it will also give you alerts.
Also, do not worry if it is overcast weather. The amazing power of the sun, with its penetrating waves and particles, is still beneficial.
The Amazing Light Journey from the Sun to our Brain
Step #1 – The sun uses frequencies and communicates with the melanopsin in our eyes, highly light-sensitive nerves.
Step #2 – Then the nerves send signals and messages via the retinohypothalamic (Eye-Hypothalamus) tract to the suprachiasmatic nucleus (SCN) in the hypothalamus of the brain. The SCN is like a light processing computer center.
Step #3 – The SCN, our sun energy receiver device, communicates with the pineal gland and other locations to tell the body to get to work. Everything in the body is managed through this process since every single cell has circadian rhythms and it is told what to do from the SCN.
Our brain literally communicates with the sun from 92 million miles away! Remember, the sun was here first, about 4.5 billion years ago and everything on earth, including humans and plants, are co-creators and recipients of sun energy that was here much longer than when we arrived on the scene. Therefore, we have adapted to this external environment and tapped into it schedules and frequencies.

From the Sun to our Brain
Why look at the Sun?
First, it is fun to watch this massive fireball slowly rise over the horizon. It is quite humbling.
I also want to start my day off right and initialize my body with proper programming and rebooting from the sun.
I want to set my body rhythms, my circadian rhythms and be in sync with the entire universe too, with the frequency encoding especially since we are interconnected with the energies of healing light, the planets, the sun, and universal elements like hydrogen, oxygen, and even an important but not well-discussed element deuterium that we will discuss later.
My location on earth, the time of day, the season, the angle of the sun, is all communicated to my brain with collaboration from the sun to my eyeballs! So, if it is winter, the body is given different instructions than it would if it were summer.
The instructions come in different light frequencies. These light frequencies give different messages and are also healing frequencies too.
Top 5 Benefits of Sun Gazing
- Initializes the entire endocrine system
- Accelerates body repair
- Reduces inflammation
- Improves sleep by properly turning off melatonin and turning on cortisol
- Improves Cellular health and circulation
How Infrared Light Improves Circulation
- Deep Penetration of Infrared Light
- Infrared light from the sunrise can penetrate up to 8-10 millimeters beneath the skin, reaching capillaries, blood vessels, and even underlying tissues.
- This deep interaction stimulates cells and promotes the release of nitric oxide, a molecule essential for blood vessel dilation.
- Nitric Oxide Release
- Nitric oxide helps relax and expand blood vessels, improving blood flow and reducing vascular resistance.
- Enhanced blood circulation ensures better oxygen and nutrient delivery to tissues and organs, supporting overall health.
- Reduced Inflammation
- The gentle infrared light can reduce inflammation in blood vessels, improving their flexibility and reducing risks of conditions like hypertension.
- Improved microcirculation enhances healing in areas where blood flow might otherwise be sluggish.
- Cellular Energy Boost
- Infrared light stimulates mitochondria in cells to produce more ATP (energy).
- This increase in energy improves cellular functions, aiding repair and regeneration in blood vessel linings and surrounding tissues.
- Improves Capillary Health
- Capillaries are the smallest blood vessels responsible for nutrient and oxygen exchange.
- Sunrise infrared light supports capillary efficiency, allowing them to function better in delivering nutrients and removing waste.
Conclusion – Circadian Rhythms for Daily Living
Our bodies have a clear day shift and night shift. Watching the sunrise sunlight emphatically ends the night shift activities managed by melatonin, and starts the daylight shift, managed by cortisol. Enjoy watching the heavenly bodies of the universe as they arrive to give us light and life every morning.
