PARKINSON’S DEFINED: Parkinson’s Disease (PD) is a condition where a certain part of the brain, the substantia nigra, is affected or damaged, sometimes causing balance, movement, peristalsis and physical structural impairment.

Parkinson’s disease (PD) afflicts about one to one and one-half million people in the United States. Oftentimes the damage is caused by toxicity, poisons, pesticides or heavy metals such as lead. Through an alkalizing and detoxing diet, herbs, nutrition, bodywork and other modalities the condition can be stopped and conditions can even be improved and reversed. Here is a general summary:

  • Caused from an exposure to chemicals in the environment or food causing damage and inflammation

Recent research has shown that Parkinson’s originates in the gut. Protein aggregates, alphasynuclein in the brain have been traced to the gut and been found to migrate to other parts of the body and eventually to the brain and ultimately to places like the substantia nigra where motion is managed. These proteins are a side effect of insufficient fiber in the diet. Another early telltale sign of Parkinson’s is constipation, thereby confirming the lack of fiber or poor microbiome health.
